I was a little bummed that I would be on a plane while the rest of you would be watching the inauguration. We were flying United into New York for a business trip. Fortunately, the pilot who was an Obama fan, got the channel 9 (ATC chatter) tuned into a local radio station, so there we were sitting in the plane, cheap plastic headsets glued to our heads listening to Rick Warren and Nancy Pelosi and Elizabeth Alexander and Aretha Franklin and Gene Robinson, feeling the power and the emotions flowing to us through the magic of the radio.
Which brings me to the title of this post: As President Obama placed his hand on the bible and started repeating the words the Chief Justice John Roberts was prompting him through, UA Flight 90 to Newark roared down the runway at San Francisco's airport, finished its takeoff roll and rotated into a climb.
If he can do that to one tiny (relatively speaking) little plane, I have high hopes for the future. :)
